Our story
Hartwood Joinery was founded in 2004 by master joiner David Hart, who left a large commercial fit-out firm to build something he could be proud of — a workshop making bespoke pieces one at a time, for people who care about quality.
Every piece leaves our Leeds workshop with the same standard: hand- fitted joints, hand-sanded surfaces, and a finish that only gets better with age. We are still small by choice, still owner-run, and still take on every project personally.
We visit your home, listen to your brief, and take precise measurements. No obligation, no pressure — just an honest conversation.
Our workshop produces detailed drawings and timber samples. You approve every detail before a single piece of wood is cut.
Made entirely in our Yorkshire workshop by our own joiners, then delivered and fitted by the same team that built it.
